Frequently asked questions

Is it free?
Yes. Tallydial is free to use, with no sign-up and no ads.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser's local storage on this device. Your tasks and time entries never leave your browser; we only collect anonymous, cookie-free page-view statistics. Use Settings → Export to back it up or move it to another browser.
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. The countdown is based on the clock, not on ticks, so it stays accurate in background tabs and even survives a page reload. You can turn on a sound and desktop notifications for when a session ends.
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
A time management method where you work in focused intervals, traditionally 25 minutes, separated by short breaks, with a longer break after every four intervals. It helps you start, stay focused and avoid burnout.
Can I add or correct time manually?
Yes. On the Tasks page you can add, edit or delete time entries for any task, for example if you forgot to start the timer.
